Pene pati, amitai pati and golda Schultz Recital - PARIS (TCE) - MON 8th January 2024

Olyrix, 01/09/2024, Emmanuel Deroeux

Conductor Quentin Hindley seems to pay great attention to the instrumental colours, inviting the musicians of Les Frivolités Parisiennes to unfurl their palettes with broad and equally sensitive gestures, combining suppleness and controlled nervousness. The brushstrokes are almost impressionistic (for example in the overture to Meyerbeer's Pardon de Ploërmel ), while the rhythmic, well-balanced accents are lively and precise.

 Première Loge, 01/10/2024, Camillo Faverzani

Quentin Hindley conducts Les Frivolités Parisiennes with skill, flawlessly handling the dissonance of a score that this evening serves as an appetiser to the performances of the singers, whose interpretation he also supports in the most effective way.

Forum Opéra, 01/09/2024, Christophe Rizoud

The last part of the programme gives the Frivolités Parisiennes more opportunities to shine. The orchestra takes precedence over the singers. It has to be said that, with the exception of 'Dein ist mein ganzes herz', the repertoire requires sound voices. Until then, Quentin Hindley had shown what a zealous accompanist he could be; now he takes first place on the podium. Everything swings and clatters. The recital becomes a show.

PRETTY YENDE recital - PARIS (TCE) - WED 28th JUne 2017

Extract from the Forum Opéra article - Wed 28 June 2017

By Christophe Rizoud

"By a curious quirk of programming, the Paris season ends as it began, with the triumph of Pretty Yende, given a standing ovation by the audience at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées at the end of the mad scene in Lucia di Lammermoor, a role she sang in October 2016 at the Paris Opéra and in which she is now one of the best incumbents. (...)

We have to take our hats off to Quentin Hindley, at the head of an Orchestre de Picardie whose percussion in the instrumental numbers was sometimes too assertive. Attentive and thoughtful, the conductor knows how to preserve the performer's freedom while maintaining control of the score.

She's so Pretty Yende, at the Champs-Élysées

Extract from the Olyrix article - Thu 29 June 2017

By Charles Arden

"This recital at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées is a dazzling climax to the Les Grandes Voix programme and a dream season for Pretty Yende, who confirms her place at the pinnacle of the lyric art. (...)

Under the supple, limpid baton of Quentin Hindley, the Picardy phalanx takes its rightful place behind the singer, hanging on her every word, giving her complete freedom in the cadenzas, harmonising with her every accent and nuance.
